Meet the Catch: Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon

Meet the Catch: Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon

Posted by Joci Besecker on

Our new Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon is made from wild-caught Alaska sockeye salmon, traditionally alderwood smoked in small batches and fully cooked for easy meals, snacks and entertaining.

It’s rich, savory, high in protein and fully cooked, making it one of the easiest ways to enjoy premium wild seafood at home.

What Makes Sockeye Salmon Different?

Sockeye salmon is known for its deep red color, rich flavor and firm texture. Compared to milder salmon varieties, sockeye has a more robust, “true salmon” flavor that seafood lovers tend to crave.

Wild Alaskan sockeye salmon is also naturally high in:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Protein
  • Vitamin D
  • Selenium
  • B vitamins

Because our sockeye salmon is wild-caught in Southeast Alaska, it is never farm-raised or genetically modified. Alaska also has some of the strictest sustainable fishing regulations in the world, helping protect wild salmon populations and keep our oceans healthy for future generations.

Small Batch Alderwood Smoked

Not all smoked salmon is created equal.

Our Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon is slowly alderwood smoked in small batches for a balanced smoky flavor that enhances the fish without overpowering it. The result is rich, savory and buttery, with a clean finish that lets the quality of the wild salmon shine through.

We also keep things simple:

  • Wild Alaska sockeye salmon
  • Traditional smoking methods
  • No artificial colors
  • No unnecessary additives

Just clean, high-quality wild seafood.

Fully Cooked and Ready to Eat

One of the best things about smoked sockeye salmon is how incredibly versatile it is.

Since it’s fully cooked and ready to eat, you can keep it in your refrigerator for quick meals, snacks and entertaining.

Some of our favorite ways to enjoy it:

  • On a bagel with cream cheese, capers and red onion
  • Flaked into salads or grain bowls
  • Added to scrambled eggs or omelets
  • On a charcuterie or seafood board
  • Tossed into pasta
  • On crackers with goat cheese
  • Straight out of the package for a high-protein snack

It’s one of those products that feels elevated and gourmet while still being incredibly easy.

Wild Smoked Salmon vs Farmed Smoked Salmon

Many smoked salmon products sold in grocery stores are made from farmed Atlantic salmon imported from overseas.

Wild smoked sockeye salmon is very different.

Wild Alaska sockeye salmon tends to have:

  • A firmer texture
  • Richer flavor
  • Deeper natural color
  • Higher natural omega-3 content
  • No artificial feed dyes
  • No crowded ocean pens

At Premier Catch, we focus exclusively on wild seafood sourced from responsibly managed fisheries in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.

Why We’re Excited About This Product

You might have tried our popular smoked king salmon over the last several years, but this season availability became extremely limited and prices increased significantly. We decided to launch smoked sockeye instead because it still delivers the rich flavor, beautiful texture and high-quality wild salmon experience we’re known for.

This smoked sockeye checks every box:

  • Wild-caught in Alaska
  • Small batch smoked
  • Processed in the USA
  • High in protein and omega-3s
  • Easy to serve and enjoy
  • Absolutely delicious

Whether you’re building a brunch board, packing a healthy lunch or looking for a quick nutrient-dense snack, this is one of the easiest ways to enjoy premium wild salmon at home.
